AT 191: Safety and Health Authorized Trainer
This combination of training courses incorporates a Train-the-Trainer course providing an overview of instructional strategies, design, delivery and practices for adult learning and effective safety and health training. Participants will develop informational presentations based upon the technical instruction provided and individual research. Instruction and hands-on exercises on Lockout/Tagout, Cranes and Hoists, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Fall Protection, Excavation, and Confined Space will be provided to the participants. The course includes actual practice 'teach back' sessions to apply the adult learning and effective safety and health training knowledge and skills. These sessions will be evaluated as part of the course. Participants will work in small groups or independently to develop the technical information for their presentation on one of the topic areas listed above. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop to work on their presentations. Written and performance examinations are given during the course. Successful completion of the course and the examinations will allow the participant to be recognized as a UTA Authorized Trainer in the topics covered in the training.
