Texas Establishes Statewide Face Covering Requirement & Limit to Gatherings
July 2, 2020: Governor Greg Abbott today issued an Executive Order requiring all Texans to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces in counties with 20 or more positive COVID-19 cases, with few exceptions. The Governor also issued a proclamation giving mayors and county judges the ability to impose restrictions on some outdoor gatherings of over 10 people, and making it mandatory that, with certain exceptions, people cannot be in groups larger than ten and must maintain six feet of social distancing from others. Harris County Face Covering Order Extended
June 30, 2020: the following mandate has been extended until August 26...
June 19, 2020: beginning Monday June 22 through Tuesday June 30, unless extended, all employees and visitors to commercial businesses/facilities must wear face coverings when "in an area or performing an activity which will necessarily involve close contact or proximity to co-workers or the public." Commercial entities must post this policy in conspicuous location sufficient to provide notice to employees and visitors of all health and safety requirements (here's a sample posting). Houston-Area Counties Define Construction as Essential Business
March 24, 2020: A huge win for our industry! Commercial Construction is listed as an essential business under "Infrastructure, Development, Operation and Construction" of the Harris County "Stay Home, Work Safe" order. Construction in Houston will remain open for business, however it is important to continue following COVID-19 safety protocols at all times.
