AGC Houston offers its members a variety of ways to get involved in chapter activities. Joining a committee provides members with great networking opportunities as well supporting the membership and industry by sharing their talents and expertise.

Strengthens and enhances the chapter by reaching out to prospective and existing members to share benefits and encourage participation. Committee members bring a commitment and willingness to promote AGC Houston as the voice of the commercial construction industry.
Meetings: Third Thursday of each month, typically at 11:30 a.m.

Give and gain valuable insight to complex issues that affect jobsite safety. Join industry professionals, as well as OSHA representatives, as they discuss issues and regulations that affect the commercial construction industry.
Meetings: Last Friday of each month at 7:15 am

Construction Futures

Committee focuses on the future leadership of the chapter; oversees the Construction Leadership Council, The Leadership AGC (LAGC) Program, the Patrick J. Kiley Excellence in Leadership Scholarship Program, and the AGC Student Chapters.

Education and Professional Development

In addition to providing insights and ongoing support for current education initiatives, the committee offers guidance in the development of new programs to meet the ever-evolving needs of the construction industry.

Employment Practices

Human resource specialists and legal professionals discuss timely workplace topics; Members often contribute articles for the chapter newsletters and the quarterly Cornerstone magazine.

Government Affairs & PAC

Promotes and protects the industry's interests through advocacy at the local and state levels.

AIA/AGC Joint Committee

Comprised of AGC Houston and American Institute of Architects members, this group provides a forum for the design and construction community to discuss pertinent industry issues. Members are chosen by current committee members only.

AGC/A4LE Committee

The AGC Houston and Association for Learning Environments work to identify and address issues affecting regional K-12 school construction.

In an effort to advance diversity in the workforce, the mission of this committee is to help small and minority companies grow their business while increasing the capacity of a broad array of diverse firms in the region.

Veterans in Construction

The Vets in Construction forum meets quarterly and is open to any military veteran or active military personnel working (or seeking work) in the construction industry. Topics vary from connecting you with veteran benefits, programs available through veteran service groups, employment assistance, and much more!

Women in Construction

The Women in Construction forum is open to women in operations roles on a job site. This new group has not yet established a regular meeting schedule.
